The Tobiasz Children: From the summer camp near Bialystok to the Ural Mountains

When the Germans attacked Soviet occupied territory in the end of June 1941, children in a summer camp near Bialystok were deported eastwards and ended up in the Ural mountains. Jakub (Yaakov) Tobiasz , a teacher by profession, who had lost his own wife and children, became their leader.

GROUPS OF CHILDREN IN DIFFERENT COUNTRIES

This will be an atttempt to list groups of children I have heard and read about in connection with  the Holocaust.

The countries are listed alphabetically.

Each group has a timeline:

 a) groups that existed before the war broke out ( f.ex. different Kindertransports)

b) groups that existed during the war (f.ex. the Teheran children)

c) groups that existed after the war ( f.ex. the Koordynacja children in Poland)

FRANCE

GERMANY

GREAT BRITAIN

HUNGARY

DURING THE WAR: THE TEHERAN CHILDREN  Among the around 13000 children leaving the Soviet Union in the footsteps of General Anders Army, were about 1000 Jewish children. All these children were Polish, but here in Israel they are called the Teheran Children. These children arrived in Eretz Israel in 1943.
