THE STORY AS FAR AS WIESLAWA KNOWS:

This little baby girl was born in the ghetto of Piotrkow Trybunalski (Possibly the Lodz ghetto) in the beginning of 1943. Still a baby, she and her parents were transferred to a work camp in Piotrkow Trybulanski.
While in the work camp, in December 1943, her parents managed to smuggle their daughter out of the camp. The couple Stefan and Helena Gruchala took care of her and pretended she was theirs.
Before the war Gruchalas lived at the 10 or 11 Rynek in Piotrkow Tryb., which was included to the ghetto during the war, and they had to move out.
Wieslawa remembers the sound of Blaustein or Blumstein surname… maybe it was her family name? During the war at the apartment where Gruchalas used to live, Blausztajn family lived.
Maybe it was not a coincidence? We know for sure that Wieslawa’s foster mother had contacts with people in the ghetto and smuggled food for them.

SOME THOUGHTS:
Somehow it seems more likely that the whole story took place in Piotrkow Tryb.
IF the whole story happened in Piotrkow Tryb. her parents might have known the Gruchala couple from before the war.
Perhaps they were neighbors at the Rynek?
Perhaps Mr. and Mrs. Gruchala had some business that the little girl’s parents used before the war?
Perhaps Mr. and Mrs. Gruchala were clients in a business the little girl’s parents had?

Logan Kleinwaks sent us this piece of information. Could this perhaps have been a neighbour?
Will this help the search?

RESEARCH JOURNAL AUGUST 2009
We have just been informed that Wieslawa died in February 2009.
It is sad to know that she is no longer with us.
It is especially tragic that she died without knowing her original identity.
We will keep her profile here in the hope that one day somebody will read her profile
Blessed be her memory.
